Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Allot, a free listing platform that connects people who have leftover construction materials with people who can use them. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a legally binding agreement to use Allot. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Your Account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information at signup and to keep it up to date. Impersonating another person or creating an account for someone else is not allowed.

3. Listings

• Allot is currently free to use. There is no charge to post or claim a listing.
• Listings are for construction materials only, and are pickup-only — Allot does not handle shipping, delivery, or payment between users.
• By posting a listing, you certify that you own the material or have explicit permission to give it away. Listing stolen goods will result in a permanent ban and may be reported to law enforcement.
• Allot verifies that the location where a listing's photos were taken matches the general pickup area provided. This confirms physical presence — it does not verify ownership, condition, or the legality of the item itself.
• Materials are offered "as-is." Buyers are responsible for inspecting an item in person before taking it. Allot makes no guarantee about the condition, safety, or fitness of any listed material.

4. Claims and Pickups

When you claim a listing, the seller may approve or decline your request. If approved, the seller's pickup address is shared with you, and a pickup window begins. If a pickup isn't completed within that window, the claim expires and the item becomes available to others again.

Repeatedly claiming and failing to complete pickups, or other abusive claiming behavior, may result in restrictions on your account.

5. Ratings and Reports

After a completed pickup, both the buyer and seller are asked to rate each other. Ratings are visible to other users as an average score. You agree not to submit false or retaliatory reports, and to use the reporting feature in good faith.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Post stolen, illegal, or misrepresented items
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users, including through the chat feature
• Attempt to circumvent Allot's claim, approval, or rating system
• Use the platform for anything other than genuine construction-material giveaways
• Attempt to access another user's account or private information without authorization

7. Enforcement

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including for suspected stolen-goods listings, repeated abusive behavior, or fraudulent activity. Suspected stolen goods may be reported to law enforcement.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Allot is a platform that connects users — we are not a party to any exchange of materials between users, and we do not inspect, own, or take possession of any listed items. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Allot is not liable for the condition of materials, the conduct of users, disputes between buyers and sellers, or any loss, injury, or damage arising from a pickup arranged through the platform.

9. Changes to the Service

We may add, change, or remove features at any time, including introducing paid features in the future. We'll do our best to communicate significant changes.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Allot after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles.
