This Privacy Policy explains what information Allot collects, why we collect it, and how it's used. Allot is a free listing platform for people who want to give away items they no longer need — we don't sell your data, and we don't run ads.
When you create an account, we collect your name, username, email address, phone number, password, and default zip code.
When you post a listing, we collect the listing details (title, category, condition, quantity, description), the pickup zip code and address, and at least three photos.
Location data: when you take a photo to post a listing, we automatically capture the GPS coordinates and IP address associated with that photo. This is used to verify that the person posting an item was physically present at the claimed pickup location, which helps prevent fraudulent or fake listings. This location data is not shown publicly and is not visible to other users — it is retained internally for fraud investigation and trust & safety purposes only.
Claims and messages: when you claim an item, we record the claim status and timing (including when an address is revealed to you and when a pickup is confirmed). If you use the in-app chat with a buyer or seller, we store those messages, tied to that specific transaction.
Ratings: after a completed pickup, both parties may leave a star rating and optional written comment about each other.
Reports: if you report a listing or user, we record the reason and any details you provide.
We use third-party service providers to operate Allot, including Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage) and Netlify (website hosting). These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own security and privacy commitments.
We may disclose information if we reasonably believe it's necessary to investigate suspected theft or illegal activity, to comply with a legal obligation, or to protect the safety of our users, including sharing information with law enforcement when a listing is reasonably suspected to involve stolen goods.
We retain your account and activity data for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us at support@myallot.com and we will process your request.
Allot is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
You can update your account information at any time by contacting us. You may also request a copy of the data we hold about you.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
